How To Use Guaifenesin
GUAIFENESIN: Take each dose of GUAIFENESIN with a full glass of water. Water will also help break-up the mucous and clear congestion. Drink plenty of fluids while taking GUAIFENESIN, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Do not take GUAIFENESIN for a chronic, persistent cough such as occurs with smoking or asthma unless directed by your doctor. If the cough lasts for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by a fever, headache or rash, consult your doctor.
Guaifenesin Uses
GUAIFENESIN is used to relieve a dry cough and helps to loosen phlegm and mucous in the lungs so you can "cough-up" (expectorate) mucous.
Guaifenesin Precautions
If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using GUAIFENESIN: breathing problems such as emphysema/chronic bronchitis/asthma, smoking, any allergies. GUAIFENESIN should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if GUAIFENESIN is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Guaifenesin Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor of all the medicines you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially: cough- and-cold medicines. Guaifenesin may affect the results of certain lab tests. Be sure your caregivers are aware you use this medicine before lab tests are performed. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Guaifenesin Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, and unusually slow heartbeat.

Missed Guaifenesin Dose
